Job summary

Bozeman Health seeks a Registered Nurse Lactation Consultant to provide expert breastfeeding support to mothers, babies, and families in hospital and clinic settings. The role includes in-hospital visits, prenatal education, and postpartum support, with collaboration across care teams.

Requires Montana RN licensure, AHA BLS, and IBCLC or CLC certification, plus NRP within six months. Three years of maternal/child nursing experience and strong teaching skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing and Montana RN licensure.
• Current AHA BLS certification.
• IBCLC or CLC certification.
• NRP certification within six months of hire, recertification every two years.
• Minimum 3 years of maternal/child nursing clinical experience focusing on lactation.
• Experience in teaching, communication, and counseling.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group lactation support services, including prenatal education and postpartum visits.
• Assess and document maternal and infant health and breastfeeding goals to tailor care.
• Offer breastfeeding education and counseling to healthcare providers, families, and the community.
• Identify clients needing additional resources and refer to community services.
• Develop and lead breastfeeding classes and workshops.
• Promote breastfeeding-friendly practices and participate in quality improvement and research initiatives.
• Demonstrate leadership and ongoing professional development.
• Maintain a safe, health-promoting environment.
