Job summary

Bozeman Health seeks a Registered Nurse Lactation Consultant to provide expert breastfeeding support, education, and counseling. You'll address latch, milk supply, and feeding techniques, collaborating with clinicians to promote evidence-based, breastfeeding-friendly care in hospital, clinic, or private settings.

You will lead prenatal education, in-hospital visits, and postpartum follow-up, while staying current with lactation research and best practices to empower families and healthcare teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing and Montana RN licensure.
• Current AHA BLS certification.
• IBCLC or CLC certification.
• NRP certification within six months of hire.
• Three years of maternal/child nursing with lactation focus.
• Experience in teaching, communication, and counseling.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual lactation support and education during prenatal, in-hospital, and postpartum visits.
• Assess maternal and infant health and document breastfeeding goals to tailor care.
• Educate providers and families to promote informed breastfeeding decisions.
• Refer clients to community resources for additional support.
• Develop and lead breastfeeding classes and workshops.
• Promote best practices by integrating current research and quality initiatives.
• Demonstrate leadership and maintain professional standards and ethics.
• Maintain a safe environment supporting wellness and lactation care.
