Job summary

Medical City McKinney is seeking PRN RN Labor and Delivery nurses to join our team. As part of HCA Healthcare, you’ll provide direct patient care in a high‑reliability environment, guided by the nursing process and therapeutic communication.

You’ll work with newborns to adults, advocate for patients and families, and mentor new staff. Eligible candidates have BSN, Texas RN license, ACLS/BLS, NRP within specified timelines, and L&D experience.

Qualifications

• 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• ACLS and BLS within 30 days of employment start date
• NRP within 90 days of employment start date
• Texas RN license or compact state license
• BSN degree required

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care within the scope of the RN Practice Act
• Use therapeutic communication in daily practice
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment
• Plan, implement and direct care using the nursing process
• Advocate for patients and educate patients/families throughout the continuum of care
• Support newborn, pediatric, and adult patients with age-specific care
• Delegate tasks and supervise nursing staff as appropriate
