Medical City McKinney, part of Medical City Healthcare, is seeking an RN for Labor & Delivery on a full-time night shift with rotating weekends. Candidate must have 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience, TX RN license, and required certifications within set timeframes.

Qualifications

• 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience.
• ACLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• NRP must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• RN licensure in Texas or compact state.

• Performs direct patient care within the RN scope.

• Plan, implement and direct care with nursing process focus.

• Performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act
• Use therapeutic communication in daily practice
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment
• Plan, implement and direct care using the nursing process with emphasis on the needs of the individual patient
• Provide emotional support of the patient and significant others to make informed choices regarding healthcare
• Promote an environment that treats patients and families with dignity, respect and appreciation of their lifestyle, religion and culture
• Maintain quality, age specific care for newborn, pediatric, adolescent and adult patients as assigned
• Proactively advocate for patients and consistently education patients/families throughout the continuum of care
• Delegate tasks to the appropriate level of staff
• Provide supervision of new employees, vocational nurses, nurse assistants, student nurses, nurse externs/interns

What qualifications you will need:

• 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Registered Nurse in the state of Texas or compact state license
• Bachelors Degree in Nursing
