Job summary

Moab Regional Hospital in Moab, Utah is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) for a PRN role. You will provide intrapartum care from admission through labor, delivery, and the immediate post‑partum recovery, with readiness for obstetric emergencies.

The ideal candidate has L&D experience, current RN license in Utah, BLS, NRP, ACLS; EFM proficiency preferred. Flexible, rotating schedule including nights, weekends and holidays to support staff coverage.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN license in practicing state (Utah).
• L&D clinical experience required.
• Active BLS, NRP, ACLS; EFM experience preferred.
• Strong ability to manage obstetric emergencies in rapid situations.

Responsibilities

• Labor assessment and triage for labor onset and admissions.
• Intrapartum monitoring and interpretation of fetal heart rate patterns.
• Delivery assistance and epidural management with providers.
• Postpartum/post-anesthesia recovery oversight for mother and newborn.
• Respond promptly to obstetric emergencies and neonatal resuscitation when required.
• Lead or assist in neonatal stabilization per NRP guidelines.

Labor & Delivery / Women's Services This is a PRN position (as needed) Schedule & Shift Coverage: Requires a flexible, rotating schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on department needs and to support planned staff coverage.

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced, highly skilled Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Women's Services team on a PRN basis. In this role, you will focus primarily on high-quality intrapartum care, managing patients from admission through labor, delivery, and the immediate recovery phase. We are specifically looking for an adaptable professional with strong foundational L&D clinical experience who can seamlessly step into our unit, manage obstetric emergencies, and provide exceptional support to growing families.

Key Responsibilities

• Labor Assessment & Triage: Evaluate presenting patients for labor onset, rupture of membranes, and obstetric complications; manage admissions and initial assessments.
• Intrapartum Monitoring: Manage care for laboring patients; perform advanced continuous fetal monitoring (EFM); and precisely interpret fetal heart rate patterns and contractions.
• Delivery Assistance: Administer medications, manage epidurals, and actively assist providers during vaginal deliveries and surgical interventions.
• Immediate Post-Anesthesia Recovery: Oversee the immediate postpartum and post-anesthesia recovery phase for mothers and newborns, ensuring stabilization and a smooth transition to couplet care.
• Emergency Response: Swiftly identify and decisively intervene during high-risk scenarios and obstetric emergencies (e.g., shoulder dystocia, postpartum hemorrhage).
• Newborn Resuscitation & Stabilization: Actively lead or assist in neonatal resuscitation immediately following delivery when required; execute advanced airway management, chest compressions, and medication administration per NRP guidelines to stabilize distressed newborns.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Licensure: Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the practicing state.
• Experience: Previous experience in a Labor & Delivery setting required.
• Certifications: Current BLS and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and ACLS required; EFM (Certified Electronic Fetal Monitoring) heavily preferred. Stable upon hire.
• Skills: Excellent in fetal heart rate strip interpretation, confident in high-stress clinical situations, and able to adapt immediately to unit protocols.

Schedule & Availability Expectations

• Rotation Policy: Requires a flexible schedule with the ability to work a rotating schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays based on department needs.
• Shift Coverage: Candidates must be comfortable stepping into night shift demands or full-time nurses if the unit's holiday or weekend coverage rotation to support the full-time nurses planned time-off.
