UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking an experienced RN for Labor and Delivery, night shift in Dallas, TX. The role provides direct patient care under supervision, with emphasis on high-risk obstetrics.

You will perform comprehensive assessments, create patient-centered care plans, and collaborate with physicians and teams. Applicants should have an accredited nursing education, Texas RN licensure, BLS, ACLS/NRP as required, and 1 year of L&D experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved/accredited nursing program; must read, write and communicate in English.
• 1 year RN experience in High Risk Labor and Delivery; more may be required by unit/standards.
• Licenses and Certifications: Texas RN licensure (NLC) and BLS; ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Monitoring required.

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents comprehensive nursing assessments for patients across age groups.
• Anticipates patient and family needs and develops an appropriate plan of care with interdisciplinary input.
• Communicates effectively with the health care team; coordinates the plan of care and documents interventions promptly.
• Prioritizes interventions based on assessments and changes in condition; involves patient and family in care planning.
• Ensures adherence to hospital policies and nursing standards; contributes to quality and safety initiatives.
