Job summary

St. Davids North Austin Medical Center in Texas seeks an experienced RN for Labor & Delivery. You will coordinate and deliver patient care, assess patients and families, develop care plans, and provide family-centered teaching.

You will participate in discharge planning and ensure safe medication administration. The role requires an RN license in Texas (or compact with 90 days to obtain Texas license) and BLS/ACLS/NRP certifications per policy. ADN is required; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• 1 year of clinical nursing experience as an RN.
• Associate degree in nursing is required; BSN preferred.
• Current Texas RN license or Compact license with Texas license within 90 days.
• BLS, ACLS or ALS, NRP certifications per policy.

Responsibilities

• Complete admission interview on patient arrival and document the assessment.
• Identify changes in patient condition and promptly report to physician or charge nurse.
• Assess and document patient educational needs and instructions during admission and hospitalization.
• Provide psychological and social support to patient and family.
• Facilitate interdisciplinary discharge planning and teaching.
• Administer and document medications accurately and legibly.
• Keep physician/Clinical Nurse Coordinator informed of significant information or changes.
• Continuously evaluate and modify the plan of care based on patient response.
• Provide individualized nursing interventions and document outcomes.
