Position Summary:

Assess, plan, delegate, and coordinate nursing care for assigned patients throughout the shift, in collaboration with the healthcare team. Responsibilities include:

• Identifying patient needs/problems through assessment
• Supervising LPNs, Nursing Assistants, and UC
• Responding to emergencies appropriately
• Documenting assessments, care plans, interventions, and patient responses
• Administering medications and treatments, including IV meds, blood products, and chemotherapy
• Maintaining and charging equipment and supplies
• Ensuring a safe environment by adhering to infection control and safety policies
• Following physician orders and evaluating patient outcomes
• Using fetal monitoring with interpretation and interventions

Qualifications:

• Current Virginia License at hire
• Registered in Virginia; no prior clinical experience required, but 6 months Labor/Delivery preferred
• Completion of orientation within 30 days of hire
• CPR and NRP certification within 30 days of hire; ACLS preferred
• Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification every two years or within one year of hire
