HiredFirst is seeking a Night Shift Labor & Delivery nurse in California. The role features 3 x 12-hour shifts (36 hours) or 4 x 12-hour shifts (48 hours) with no regular call, and no floating requirements.
Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, administering medications and IVs, and monitoring maternal/fetal status while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team and educating patients and families.
Night Shift (2nd Shift)
7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
3 x 12-hour shifts (36 hours) or 4 x 12-hour shifts (48 hours)
No call (occasional on-call/low census up to 4 times)
No floating
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
Administer medications, IVs, and monitor maternal/fetal status
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and delegate tasks
Educate patients/families and support discharge planning
Ensure safe, high-quality care using nursing process
Education & Experience
Minimum 2 years L&D experience (Required)
BSN (Preferred)
Licenses & Certifications
BLS (Required)
ACLS (Required)
NRP (Required)
AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (Required)
Strong L&D and newborn care experience required
Ability to manage rotating shifts and weekend coverage
Must meet vaccination and compliance requirements
