Job summary

Tap Healthcare Solutions in Seattle, WA, seeks an experienced Registered Nurse in Labor & Delivery to join Swedish First Hill's team. This is not an entry‑level role; the ideal candidate has at least one year of L&D experience and holds a WA RN license, BLS, and NRP.

You will provide specialized nursing care during labor, delivery, and the immediate perinatal period, collaborating closely with physicians and the maternal care team.

Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor and Delivery to join the Labor & Delivery team at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, Washington. This opportunity is designed specifically for an RN with established, hands‑on experience caring for patients in a Labor & Delivery environment.

The RN will provide specialized nursing care throughout labor, delivery, and the immediate perinatal period while collaborating closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other members of the maternal care team. This is an experienced L&D RN position and is not intended as an entry‑level pathway into the specialty.

Required Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program
• Current Washington Registered Nurse (RN) License upon hire
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire
• Current American Academy of Pediatrics Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification upon hire
• Minimum 1 year of professional RN experience
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience specifically within a Labor & Delivery environment
• Labor & Delivery clinical rotations completed during nursing school do not count toward the required L&D experience
• Labor & Delivery residency program experience does not substitute for the required experienced-RN background

Preferred Qualifications

• 1–2+ years of Labor & Delivery RN experience
• National certification in the applicable nursing specialty upon hire
• Strong maternal-fetal assessment and clinical decision-making skills
• Experience working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary Labor & Delivery team

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is an experienced Labor & Delivery RN with at least one full year of independent professional experience in an L&D setting. This role requires more than exposure to Labor & Delivery through nursing school clinical rotations or a residency program. Candidates should already be comfortable functioning as an experienced RN within the specialty and providing direct nursing care throughout labor and delivery.

A candidate with 1–2+ years of dedicated L&D nursing experience, strong maternal and newborn assessment skills, and specialty certification will be especially well positioned for this opportunity.

Compensation

$100,000 – $190,000 annually

Eligible external candidates may also qualify for a $15,000 hiring bonus, subject to meeting all applicable conditions for payment.
