Job summary

Cynet Health is seeking an experienced RN for Labor & Delivery, Well-Baby Nursery, and Postpartum. This 13-week assignment requires an RN with 3+ years in L&D, a valid license, and ability to lead deliveries, monitor fetal status, and provide safe postpartum care.

Shifts are 12 hours, nights from 7 PM to 7 AM, with self-scheduling aspects and regular rotations. Unit supports high-risk deliveries and post-op care; strong teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Active RN license required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Labor & Delivery.
• Experience with postpartum and well-baby care.
• BLS, NRP, Advanced Fetal Monitoring, or OB certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage deliveries independently and provide postpartum care.
• Coordinate patient care with OB/GYN team and nurses.
• Monitor fetal status and chart in Cerner using fetal monitoring.

Description:Unit combines Labor & Delivery, Well-Baby Nursery, and Postpartum.The unit has a total of 10 beds.Ratios: Labor & Delivery usually operates at 1 to 1-2.Postpartum follows AWHONN guidelines at 1 to 4 couplet care.Charting system used is Cerner, with fetal heart monitoring provided by fetal link.Charge Nurse will take patient assignments.No nurse aides are present on the unit.Weekend requirement is every other weekend.Holidays will be worked into permanent staff rotation.Scrub color is navy.No ventilators are available on the unit.Clientist or Intensivist is not in-house.Neonatologist is not available; however, a hospitalist must be on-call 24/7.The team consists of 4 OB/GYNs and 2 midwives.The unit does not have an IV team.Respiratory Therapy is available 24/7.Pharmacy is in-house for limited hours.Shifts are 12 hours from 7 PM to 7 AM with self-scheduling to some degree.Manager will balance staffing to ensure coverage.Schedules are made 30-45 days in advance.Floating to Med/Surg or CCU occurs rarely and only if desired.Nurses will work in both Labor & Delivery and Postpartum on the unit.Floor-specific orientation is provided for 2-3 days.Common diagnoses include post-operative gynecological surgeries and high-risk deliveries.Candidates will also encounter drug-affected newborns undergoing withdrawal protocols and twin deliveries.Cancellation policy allows the facility to cancel up to 4 shifts during the assignment.
