Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff in Jeffersonville, IN seeks a RN - L&D for 17 weeks. The role requires 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience, active Registered Nurse license, and certifications in BLS, ACLS, NRP, and EFM. Night shift with 12-hour hours per shift.

Description:A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients.The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe and effective patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes.The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit and promoting personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education.The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members.Applying the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care, the RN has the responsibility to assess, develop, implement, and evaluate the plan of care.The RN focuses on patient and family comforts, education, and satisfaction.The RN applies educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care and mentoring/precepting staff.

Job Responsibilities:Performs assessments and reassessments per policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition.Demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions.Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care and reviews and revises the plan as indicated.Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services.Utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of organization, patients, and families.Monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions.Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs.Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel.Functions as a mentor or preceptor and demonstrates teamwork.Identifies and appropriately communicates opportunities for improvement.Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts.Implements practice changes and complies with regulatory standards.Participates in unit goals and performance improvement activities.Effectively uses communication systems.Promotes cost-effective care and gives feedback to co-workers.Advocates for a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment for all.Recognizes data from complex situations to determine priorities for care.Synthesizes assessment data before communication to others.Anticipates discharge needs of individual patients and families.Develops relationships that promote patients and families advocating for their needs.Collaborates with patients and families to prepare or update the plan of care.Utilizes available multidisciplinary resources in planning care.Addresses cultural and ethnic issues in patient care planning.Demonstrates the ability to prioritize tasks for patients with complex problems.Reads journals that contain studies or articles applicable to practice.Brings ideas and questions to staff for assessment of applicability.
