Job Title: Registered Nurse Labor & Delivery

Location: Asheville, NC

Shift: 3x12-Hour Shifts (Days or Nights)

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join a dynamic team in a high-acuity maternity care setting. In this role, you will provide compassionate care to mothers and newborns throughout the labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum period.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care during labor, delivery, and recovery
• Monitor maternal and fetal status using electronic fetal monitoring
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and provide immediate newborn care
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians and support staff
• Support surgical procedures like Cesarean Sections, D&Cs, and more
• Maintain accurate patient records using EMR systems
  
  

Unit Overview

• Beds: 16
• Staff: RNs, Charge Nurses, PCTs, CSTs
• Patient Ratios: 1:1 or 1:2
• Equipment Used: Baxter Pumps, Phillips Electronic Fetal Monitoring
• EMR Systems: Cerner, Fetal Ink
  
  

Requirements

• Active RN License (NC or Compact)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience
• High-risk obstetrics experience required
• Immediate newborn care experience
• Certifications Required:
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS
• NRP
• Advanced Fetal Monitoring
  

Preferred Skills

• Circulating experience in the OR for Cesarean deliveries
• Strong communication and adaptability
• Experience working in high-stress, fast-paced environments
