Optim Healthcare in Reidsville, GA seeks an RN Total Joint and Spine Educator to lead the Joint Program and coordinate with Quality, Nursing, Surgery and Physical Therapy to meet hospital quality initiatives for joint replacement and spine surgery. This role drives excellence and education across care teams.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid RN license
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Ability to develop policies and procedures
• Creative in education tool development
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Ability to teach and evaluate staff performance
• Ability to teach patients and families and assess understanding

Responsabilités

• Develop education tool for patients/families using discussion, printed material, visual material and demonstration
• Assesses patient/family knowledge of surgical procedure and recovery
• Develops tools to use for patient/family knowledge deficit
• Provides and develops education/orientation for hospital staff in relation to joints
• Works with Committee to develop standardized orders for Preoperative testing, Postoperative Care and Physical Therapy modalities
• Acts as a facilitator between patients/families/staff/physicians as needed
• Develops tools to aid staff in improvement of patient care
• Develop close working relationship with surgeons to aid in program development
• Liaison with surgeons and staff as needed
• Consults on a regular basis with each surgeon performing joints for information updates and improvement of care
• Consults with department heads for patient care improvement
• Works in collaboration with interdisciplinary team to meet individual patient needs before discharge
• Serves as a resource for all departments and personnel
• Participates in performance improvement activities
• Performs other duties as directed
