Job summary

Trinity Health Ann Arbor is seeking a Registered Nurse to care for patients in the 4 East Inpatient Rehab unit, coordinating a structured conditioning program for individuals with TBI, stroke, orthopedic surgery, and spinal cord injuries.

Shifts include 7:00 PM–7:00 AM and 7:00 AM–7:30 PM; roles require full-time or part-time with every other weekend and holidays. Candidates must be licensed MI RN, with BSN preferred, and committed to compassionate, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a nursing program; eligible for NCLEX to become licensed RN.
• Current MI RN license; BLS; ACLS required for select departments.
• BSN within five years or commit to obtain BSN within five years.
• Knowledge of nursing theory and age-specific needs.
• Strong interpersonal skills and critical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Gathers and analyzes patient information.
• Develops, implements, evaluates and revises an individualized plan of care.
• Uses teach back methodology to educate patient and family.
• Actively seeks to prevent potential hospital acquired infections.
• Effectively communicates patient status, priority goals and interventions.
• Follows all HIPAA policies and procedures.
• Behaves in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of St. Joseph Mercy Hospitals.

Position Purpose:

4 East Inpatient Rehab: Inpatient rehab, and a well-coordinated conditioning program for patients suffering from TBI, stroke, orthopedic surgery, and spinal cord trauma.

Shifts Available: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM and: Day Shift 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM

Status Available: Full time, Part time Every Other Weekend and Every other Holiday per year required for Full-time and Part-Time team members.

Required Qualifications:

• Education. Graduation from a school of nursing that results in the ability of the graduate to sit for the NCLEX exam to become licensed as a Registered Nurse. BSN preferred.
• Licensure- Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) License.- BLS.- ACLS required for the following departments : Float Pool, Cardiac/Cath Lab, AICU, Emergency
• Experience- Experienced Canadian Registered Nurses are encouraged to apply- Graduation from accredited nursing program.- Effective January 1, 2013 all new hires must have a BSN degree or must agree in writing to obtain their BSN within five (5) years from date of hire or transfer to an RN role.
• Knowledge of nursing theory, practice and age specific needs
• Interpersonal skills necessary to initiate and maintain collegial relationships with coworkers and therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
• Critical thinking skills necessary to perform principal duties and responsibilities of job description.
• Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when planning and performing professional nursing care
