Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Inpatient Medical/Surgical unit. New grads and experienced RNs are welcome.

This full-time role offers 36 hours per week with 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) and self-scheduling. Sign-on bonuses up to $10,000 for experienced RNs and up to $5,000 for new graduates, plus relocation assistance up to $3,000 are available.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or compact state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA) or within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care following the nursing process.

About the Unit

• Inpatient Med/Surg – Inpatient Med Surg provides care for adult patients with a wide range of medical conditions, including small bowel obstructions, respiratory infections, cellulitis, diverticulitis, and pneumonia. This unit offers a strong clinical foundation with diverse patient needs, frequent assessments, and dynamic care coordination.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or compact state
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (or within 30 days of hire)

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Prior hospital or acute‑care nursing experience
• Specialty certifications

New graduate nurses are encouraged to apply.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and assist up to 50 pounds
• Prolonged standing and walking
• Ability to bend, reach, kneel, squat, and assist patients safely
