Job summary

Fort HealthCare in Wisconsin is seeking a registered nurse for a weekend program: Friday–Sunday, 7pm–7am, 72 hours biweekly. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care using evidence-based practice and collaborate with the medical team.

The role requires an RN license in Wisconsin, an Associates or Bachelor’s degree, and active BLS; ACLS/PALS/NRP as applicable. We offer generous benefits, retirement, PTO, and professional growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate effectively with care team, patient and family.
  • Current Wisconsin RN license and active BLS certification.
  • Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Nursing required; ACLS/PALS/NRP as applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses and evaluates patient care for an assigned group of patients using evidence-based practice.
  • Uses nursing process to develop and implement a plan of care and evaluate outcomes.
  • Educates patients and families about measures to promote health and comfort.
  • Collaborates with the medical staff for quality patient care.
  • Documents assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely.
  • Maintains professional relationship with patient and family, ensuring culturally sensitive care.

Weekend Program - Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 7p-7a

72 hours per bi-weekly pay period

Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Assesses and evaluates patient care for an assigned group of patients, utilizing evidence-based practice.
  • Uses the nursing process to develop and implement the plan of care, collect assessment data for each patient, determine appropriate nursing diagnoses, identify expected patient outcomes, determine the plan of care, implement interventions, and evaluate patient outcomes.
  • Educates the patient, family, and significant other(s) about measures that promote, maintain, and restore health or promote comfort.
  • Utilises effective communication to participate with the patient, family, significant other(s), and other health care providers in collaborative decision making that reflects the understanding that care should be culturally sensitive, ethical, legal, holistic, informed, compassionate, and humane, and within the boundaries of available economic resources.
  • Assumes responsibility and accountability for care provided and documented by other licensed and unlicensed caregivers as appropriate.
  • Documents accurately and completely pertinent assessments, interventions, and outcomes for patients in accordance with documented standards, policies, procedures, and/or guidelines.
  • Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Establishes effective relationships and serves as an advocate with the patient, family, and significant other(s) to faciliti the development of the care plan unique to the patient’s care needs.
  • Develops assessment and management strategies based on a consideration of the physical, functional, cultural, social, economic, developmental, spiritual, vocational, and leisure dimensions of human responses to actual and potential health problems.
  • Collaborates with members of the medical staff to provide quality patient care.

Requirements of this position include:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree
  • Abilityto effectively communicate with care team, patient and family members.
  • Current RN license to practice in the State of Wisconsin upon hire; BLS(required); ACLS, PALS, NRP certification (if applicable to specialty area).
