Job summary

Fort HealthCare’s Obstetrics department is seeking a registered nurse with a minimum of two years’ labor and delivery experience to join a collaborative team that supports life at every stage. The role emphasizes clinical excellence with compassionate care for women and families in a dynamic setting.

You will work 0.9 FTE (72 hours per bi-weekly pay period) with competitive pay, shift differentials, and ample growth opportunities.

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Current RN license to practice in Wisconsin on hire; BLS (required); ACLS, PALS, NRP certification (if applicable).

Responsibilities

• Assess patient severity and priority.
• Respond to Medical Emergency/Rapid Response Alerts.
• Assist with rapid sequence intubation and moderate sedation.
• Document patient data accurately in the medical record.
• Collaborate with medical staff to provide quality patient care.
• Support families and involve them in care planning.
• Ensure compliance with ethical and legal reporting requirements.

Responsibilities of this position include:

• Determines patient level of severity and priority.


• Responds to Medical Emergency/Rapid Response Alerts


• Adheres to MSE/EMTALA requirements.


• Assists provider with rapid sequence intubation (RSI) and moderate sedation.


• Assists Law Enforcement with acquiring legal blood samples.


• Meets mandatory reporting requirements for neglect, abuse, and domestic violence.


• Completes age-appropriate assessments for neonatal through geriatric patients.


• Develops and implements a plan of care for each patient, including appropriate utilization of resources.


• Visually observes and interprets alterations in physiological and psychological status of all patients.


• Provides holistic nursing care that incorporates family involvement.


• Promptly updates physicians and family of relevant patient status changes.


• Accurately documents patient data and care provided in the patient’s medical record.


• Collaborates with members of the medical staff to provide quality patient care.

Requirements of this position include:

• Bachelors Degree preferred


• Current RN license to practice in the State of Wisconsin upon hire; BLS (required); ACLS, PALS, NRP certification (if applicable to specialty area).
