Corewell Health's Wayne Hospital seeks an Infusion Clinical Nurse to deliver patient-centered infusion therapy in the Cancer and Infusion Center. The role reports to nursing leadership and works with an interdisciplinary team to implement treatment plans.

The position is part-time, daytime, at Wayne site, with flexible weekend schedule; an educational contract may be required for new BSN entrants and ongoing certification is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree graduate from ACEN-accredited program.
• BSN/MSN/DNP/PhD required if not BSN; new grads must sign educational contract.
• 1 year acute care, emergency, or ICU experience preferred.
• MI RN license required at hire.
• Home Infusion driver's license required at hire.
• BLS certification required at hire (AHA or ARC).
• Oncology chemotherapy certification within 1 year preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care using the nursing process with patient-family centered approach.
• Assess, monitor, plan, and implement treatment while preventing complications.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and nursing leadership to ensure safe infusion therapy.

About Wayne Hospital

Serving the region since 1957, this 99-bed, full-service acute care center is the only one in the Wayne, Westland, Garden City, Canton, Inkster and Romulus area verified by the American College of Surgeons as a Level III trauma center and certified by The Joint Commission. The hospital has a long-standing partnership with Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to handle a variety of health and communicable disease concerns. This community-focused hospital has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a high-performance facility in congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, kidney failure and maternal services.

Scope of Work

The Infusion Clinical Nurse, under the ANA scope of practice utilizes the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient-family center care principles. Under the direct supervision of the Nursing leader and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse uses clinical judgment skills to access and implement the treatment plan for patients. The RN assesses monitors, detects, plans and takes appropriate action to prevent physiological complications associated with specific health problems and/or medical treatment.

Qualifications

• Required Associate's Degree Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an associate’s degree from an ACEN accredited diploma program.
• Required Bachelor's Degree B.S.N, M.S.N, DNP/PhD- if not minimum BSN prepared, new graduate/nurse with less than one (1) year experience is required to sign an educational contract upon hire to complete BSN within specified timeframe and adhere to contract stipulations. RN mush enroll in an accredited BSN program within one (1) year of licensure date and complete within the next five (5) years. This is effective April 18, 2023.

• LIC-Driver's License - STATE_MI State of Michigan Home Infusion Upon Hire required
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required Or
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Upon Hire required
• CRT-Chemotherapy Biotherapy - ONCC Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation Adult Infusion 1 Year required Or
• CRT-Chemotherapy Biotherapy - ONS #N/A Adult Infusion 1 Year
• CRT-Oncology Certified Nurse - ONCC Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation Upon Hire preferred
