Job summary

Saint Joseph Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a Staff Development and Infection Prevention Coordinator (SDC/IPC) to lead clinical development and infection control programs in a fast-paced sub-acute and long-term care setting.

You will assess staff skills, provide education, coordinate nurse orientations, implement policies, and oversee the infection prevention and antibiotic stewardship efforts center-wide.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid RN license; LPN with nursing management/leadership considered.
• English reading, writing, speaking proficiency required.
• Proficient in basic arithmetic.
• Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook required.
• Infection Preventionist certification or ability to complete within 2 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Observe and evaluate clinical staff skills to ensure policy adherence.
• Develop nursing staff knowledge through training and data-driven education.
• Coordinate orientation programs for licensed nurses and CNAs with preceptors.
• Implement new nursing policies and procedures.
• Provide CNAs with at least 12 hours of education annually.
• Maintain employee health and education files.
• Lead the infection prevention program and Antibiotic Stewardship.
• Maintain infection control systems for residents, staff, and visitors.
• Report IC trends and develop improvement actions.
• Educate staff, residents, and families on infection prevention principles.
