Job summary

St. Joseph's Living Center is seeking an RN Infection Control Nurse/Staff Development Coordinator to lead the infection prevention program through surveillance, audits, data analysis and quality improvement initiatives.

This full-time position (40 hrs/week) offers a $4,000 sign-on bonus, a Monday–Friday schedule with on-call duties every 4th weekend, and comprehensive benefits. Qualified applicants must hold an active CT or Compact RN license, 2+ years in infection control and staff development,

Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered CT or Compact State RN licensure.
• 2+ years prior experience in infection prevention and control, staff development, and regulatory compliance with CMS, CDC, OSHA, and Connecticut DPH standards preferred.
• ICP certification preferred.
• Current CPR certifications, including BLS.
• RN ability to communicate fluently in English – both verbally and written.

Responsibilities

• Lead the facility's infection prevention and control program through surveillance, audits, data analysis, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with infection control regulations by monitoring practices, investigating outbreaks, and implementing corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver staff education, orientation, and ongoing clinical training to support regulatory compliance and quality care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to identify training needs, promote best practices, and improve resident outcomes.
• Maintain infection control records, monitor trends, and serve as a clinical resource for infection prevention and staff development.
