Qualifications

• Associate Degree from an accredited School of Nursing is required.
• Current Maryland RN license (Maryland State Board of Examiners of Nurses) is required.
• Healthcare Provider CPR (biennial) is required.
• Additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP) for specialty areas are required upon hire.
• One year of RN experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Assessment: Compiles database and formulates nursing diagnoses.
• Assessment: Utilizes physical assessment and interviewing techniques.
• Planning: Initiates and updates a written nursing plan of care.
• Implementation: Administers medications, IV therapy and treatments.
• Patient care coordination: Manages daily patient assignment and priorities.
• Teaching and quality improvement: Provides patient teaching and discharge planning.
• Quality: Participates in patient, family, staff and/or student education programs.
• Professional excellence model: May serve as charge RN and precept new staff when competent.
