Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking an experienced registered nurse to provide direct patient care under general supervision. The role requires an Associate Degree in Nursing and Maryland RN licensure, with BLS certification and one year of RN experience.

Responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation, coordination of patient care, and teaching for discharge. Specialty area certifications may be required on hire; strong communication and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited school required.
• Current Maryland RN registration.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association.
• One year RN experience required.
• Licensure/certifications for specialty areas required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient data, formulate nursing diagnoses, and determine care priorities.
• Plan and update written nursing care plans incorporating clinical and psychosocial factors.
• Independently perform clinical nursing skills, administer medications and IV therapy.
• Provide emergency procedures when needed and coordinate duties of support staff.
• Document patient status and plans of care; communicate with physicians and team.
• Coordinate patient activities with other disciplines; ensure smooth post-discharge planning.
• Develop and implement patient teaching and discharge planning documentation.
