Job summary

Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) is seeking a Registered Nurse with an Associate Degree in Nursing for a comprehensive patient care role in Baltimore. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and coordinate care while addressing teaching and discharge needs as part of GBMC’s patient-centered approach.

Ideal candidates hold Maryland RN registration, CPR, and experience with multiple nursing responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree from an accredited School of Nursing required.
• Current registration with the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Nurses as a Registered Nurse.
• Healthcare Provider CPR biennial
• Additional certifications (e.g. ACLS, PALS, NRP) for specialty care areas are required upon hire
• One-year Registered Nurse experience required

Responsibilities

• Assessment: compile database and formulate nursing diagnosis; assess, interview, and determine priorities for patient care needs.
• Planning: write and update a nursing plan of care and coordinate with patient, family and health team.
• Implementation: perform nursing skills, administer medications and treatments, communicate status and plan of care.
• Patient Care Coordination: manage daily patient assignment and monitor care delivered by staff.
• Teaching and Quality Improvement: document patient teaching and discharge planning; participate in education programs.
• Professional Excellence Model: may serve as charge RN and precept new staff; monitor productivity and patient flow.
