Overview

We are a fast-paced, high-energy 19-bed floor comprised of a 13-bed Intensive Care Unit and a 6-bed Transitional Care Unit (step-down). We function as one team with excellent teamwork to provide top-quality care to our patients. Our dedicated co-workers work together to ensure patients receive the lifesaving care they need.

We see a wide variety of patients and diagnoses in our medical-surgical ICU, offering numerous educational opportunities. The TCU cares for acutely ill patients not quite requiring ICU or recently transitioned from ICU. It is a fast-paced environment that demands strong critical thinking skills, ideal for learning. Our team is united by excellent teamwork and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program
• Licensure: Current RN license in the state of employment or valid compact license, meeting all state board requirements
• Physical Demands: Ability to push, pull, and lift 50 pounds; prolonged standing and walking; ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat
• Certifications:
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) or successful completion within 30 days of hire
• Other unit-specific certifications as required, or acquire within the department timeframe
