We are hiring Registered Nurses (RNs) at Mary and Elizabeth Hospital - ICU, PRN position!

Location: 1850 Bluegrass Ave, Louisville, KY 40215
Shift: Rotating (United States of America)

Job Summary: The Registered Nurse (Hospital-Based) provides nursing care to patients of various age groups by utilizing the nursing process and adhering to nursing practice standards. The role involves applying nursing competencies to ensure safe, patient-centered care, coordinating with the care team, and continuously developing professionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments from admission to discharge, ensuring patient safety and collaborating with the healthcare team, patient, and family.
  • Administer medications safely, assess effects, and document appropriately.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with patients and families.
  • Prioritize patient problems and implement nursing interventions to meet care goals.
  • Evaluate patient and family responses to care and revise plans as needed.
  • Advocate for patients and prepare them for discharge.
  • Work with unlicensed assistive healthcare providers to ensure safe care.

Additional Duties: Demonstrate professional conduct, orient new team members, participate in evidence-based practices, communicate effectively, and ensure cost-effective resource use.

Shift Requirements: Typically 8-12 hours, with flexibility depending on department needs.

Qualifications: UofL Health accepts Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) from NCSBN in lieu of Kentucky Nursing License.
