Job summary

Cynet Health is seeking an experienced RN - ICU for LTAC ICU assignments in New Orleans, Louisiana. The role requires one year of nursing experience, ACLS/BLS certification, and compact or state license; Epic experience strongly preferred and ability to manage high-acuity patients.

This backfill/12-week contract features day shifts on 3x12-hour rotations, patient ratios of 1:5/6, and opportunities to work in a fast-paced emergency-ready unit with support from a dedicated team.

Responsibilities

• Be prepared for emergency events and standby for relief team assignments.

• Uphold infection control, nursing protocols, and medication administration.
• Maintain unit staffing and compliance with patient care standards.

Description:Please ensure traveler is aware of the following:Upon accepting an assignment and starting your role, the unit manager may assign you to an emergency team.There will be an expectation to stay until the event passes or be part of the relief team.Specific details pertaining to pay will be relayed during each emergency event as impacts vary.By signing your contract, you accept the above terms and will report as assigned by the immediate unit manager if an emergency event occurs.Do not apply for this role if you are not comfortable with the above conditions.

Certifications required include ACLS and BLS.Special procedures include TPN, wound care, drains, foley catheter insertion, and narcotic administration.The patient ratio experience required is 1:5/6.Unit will accept first-time travelers, but one year of experience is required.Epic experience is mandatory.LTAC experience is preferred but not required.Block scheduling will be considered.This position is a backfill assignment.

Additional information includes daily census, interdisciplinary support, and patient diagnoses.You should be prepared to take care of patients on ventilators and those receiving TPN and wound care.There will be a focus on care management for complex cases.Patients will include adults and geriatrics.The unit accommodates various patient needs, including the management of chronic and acute conditions.Specific equipment and skills necessary for this role include management of IVs and understanding of various nursing protocols.Emergency medications and infection prevention protocols are also critical to this role.
