Job summary

Pennock Hospital ICU, Hastings, MI, is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide compassionate 1:3 nurse-to-patient care in a 6-bed unit with potential Med Surg patients. Night shifts, rotating 3-week schedule, 36 hours per week, under Corewell Health.

Responsibilities include delivering nursing care per ANA guidelines, utilizing the nursing process, and maintaining high-quality patient care with a focus on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Associates in Nursing required.
• Bachelors in Nursing required within 5 years MI.
• Registered Nurse (RN) required.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days.
• AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described by the ANA and state regulations.
• Demonstrates competency through the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Upholds ANA standards of professional performance including ethics, communication, collaboration, and education.
• Strives to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

About the unit This unit is a 6-bed ICU unit that may have Med Surg patients. Stroke Certified. We treat our patients as our own family. Accountability, honesty, compassion and courage are very important. We pride ourselves on great team work, collaboration and safe personal care for our patients. Regionals also give you the opportunity to have flexibility with your schedule. Nurse to patient ratio 1:3 for days and nights.

Scope of work

Scope of work Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan. Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health. Strives to achieve optimal outcomes.
