Job summary

Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, VA is seeking a full-time RN in the Allergy practice to provide patient-centered ambulatory care. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care with the healthcare team, documenting in the EMR and supporting education for patients and families.

Responsibilities include coordinating care, managing age-specific assessments, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of professional nursing required.
• Current Virginia RN license or eligibility to obtain licensure required.
• AHA BLS-HCP required. ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required based on work area.
• Keyboarding skills and computer literacy including use of electronic medical records.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care in ambulatory setting, coordinating care with the healthcare team.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Document age-specific assessments and care in the EMR; educate patients and families as needed.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to adjust care plans.
• Participate in performance improvement and quality initiatives.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with regulatory standards.

Education

Graduate of a school of professional nursing

Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia or eligibility to obtain licensure

The RN Practice provides professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting, supporting patient-centered care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes.

• This position is full time, working Monday-Friday 8a-5p
• This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus when successful candidate meets applicable guidelines.
• The position does require occasional travel to other clinics for staffing needs.

• Provides individualized patient care and coordinates care delivery for patients of all ages.
• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Completes and documents age-specific assessments to support development of care plans.
• Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust care plans.
• Administers treatments and medications accurately and documents care in electronic medical records.
• Identifies and addresses patient and family education needs.
• Participates in performance improvement and quality initiatives.
• Advocates for patients and supports their rights and psychosocial needs.
• Applies knowledge of growth and development to provide age-appropriate care.
• Demonstrates clinical competence in a dynamic ambulatory care environment.

What We Require:

• Education: Graduate of a school of professional nursing required.
• Experience: None.
• Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia required or eligibility to obtain licensure required.
• Life Support: AHA BLS-HCP required. Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required based on assigned work area.
• Other Minimum Qualifications: Keyboarding skills and computer literacy required, including use of electronic medical records.

Career Advancement Program: RNs are eligible to participate in the Career Advancement Program (CAP) to attain various levels of advancement based on performance criteria.

Compensation Range:

$27.70 - $41.55 Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
