Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, VA seeks a full-time RN I - Allergy to provide patient-centered care in a dynamic ambulatory setting. The role supports care coordination across ages, documents in EMR, and collaborates with the healthcare team to optimize outcomes.

Typical schedule is Monday–Friday 8a-5p with occasional travel to other clinics. A sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates; CAP offers progression based on performance.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of professional nursing is required.
• Current Virginia RN license or eligibility is required.
• AHA BLS-HCP is required; ACLS/PALS/NRP may be required depending on work area.
• Keyboarding skills and computer literacy including use of electronic medical records.
• Career Advancement Program (CAP) offers advancement based on performance.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized patient care and coordinate care for patients of all ages.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Document age-specific assessments to support care plans.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust care plans.
• Administer treatments and medications and document in electronic medical records.
• Identify and address patient education needs and participate in quality initiatives.

This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus when successful candidate meets applicable guidelines. The position does require occasional travel to other clinics for staffing needs. This role collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes. This position is full time, working Monday-Friday 8a-5p

• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Completes and documents age-specific assessments to support development of care plans.
• Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust care plans.
• Administers treatments and medications accurately and documents care in electronic medical records.
• Identifies and addresses patient and family education needs.
• Participates in performance improvement and quality initiatives.
• Advocates for patients and supports their rights and psychosocial needs.
• Applies knowledge of growth and development to provide age-appropriate care.
• Demonstrates clinical competence in a dynamic ambulatory care environment.
• Supports efficient patient flow and resource utilization.
• Manages resources, prioritizes tasks, and adapts to changing patient care needs.
• Supports orientation and training of new employees.
• Uses problem-solving skills to address patient care and operational challenges.
• Provides feedback and participates in shared decision-making activities.
• Supports education activities within the department.
• Maintains confidentiality and complies with regulatory and organizational standards.

What We Require:

• Education: Graduate of a school of professional nursing required.
• Experience: None.
• Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia required or eligibility to obtain licensure required.
• Life Support: AHA BLS-HCP required. Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required based on assigned work area.
• Other Minimum Qualifications: Keyboarding skills and computer literacy required, including use of electronic medical records.
• Career Advancement Program: RNs are eligible to participate in the Career Advancement Program (CAP) to attain various levels of advancement based on performance criteria.

Compensation Range: $27.70 - $41.55 Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
