Responsibilities

• Shift Leadership & Accountability - assumes responsibility for the home at the beginning of the assigned shift; maintains awareness of resident, staffing, safety, and operational concerns.
• House Rounding & Staff Oversight - completes supervisory rounds throughout the home at least every 2 hours; ensures coverage and addresses concerns.
• Resident Assessment & Clinical Response - timely RN assessment of changes in condition and initiation of appropriate nursing interventions.
• Documentation & Clinical Follow-Through - ensures nursing documentation is complete and timely; documents care performed.
• Incident/Event Management - recognizes events; completes documentation and notifications; escalates high-risk concerns.
• Staffing Management - maintains attendance and staffing records; communicates staffing concerns to leadership.
• Medication, Treatment & Direct Care Support - oversees medications and treatments; assumes direct duties when needed.
• Communication & Shift Handoff - provides clear inter-staff communication and handoff details.
• Time Management & Organization - prioritizes safety and clinical needs; completes duties within the shift.
• Professional Leadership - demonstrates professionalism and teamwork; delegates appropriately.
• Policy, Regulatory & Safety Compliance - follows policy and regulatory requirements; corrects unsafe practices.
• Reliability & Follow-Through - completes responsibilities consistently and responsibly.
• Shift-Specific Operational Duties - completes census reporting, supply counts, and other tasks while maintaining core clinical duties.
• Performs other related duties as assigned and provides supervision to nursing personnel during the shift.
