Description

The Clinical Staffing Supervisor supports the staffing office manager by making clinical staffing decisions and overseeing the operations of the Central Resource during shifts. Responsibilities include staffing allocation oversight, rounding on float and flex staff, and collaborating with leadership and house supervisors on staffing concerns. The role also involves providing expert clinical support to the staffing office and nursing team, problem-solving, and evaluating resource allocation based on patient and unit needs. Summary

The House Supervisor provides operational and administrative oversight during assigned shifts across all clinical departments. This includes patient care oversight, emergency management, and addressing clinical concerns. They serve as a clinical resource, support nursing staff, and evaluate nursing care quality, assigning personnel based on patient and unit needs. The House Supervisor understands organizational needs and promotes the mission and values of patient care.

Responsibilities
  1. Patient Care: Ensure appropriate care and services are available; participate in delivering Carolina Care through rounding and service recovery; educate staff on Carolina Care concepts.
  2. Collaboration: Act as a point of contact and liaison for managers, directors, and senior leaders; serve as a clinical resource on policies and procedures.
  3. Patient Concerns: Identify and follow up on safety concerns of patients, families, and staff.
  4. Occupational Health: Manage fit-for-duty assessments and needlestick protocols during evenings, nights, and weekends.
  5. House Supervision: Assist staffing with ensuring adequate clinical coverage; address operational and supply concerns; supervise nursing staff during off-hours; respond to emergency calls; activate the emergency plan and serve as incident commander when needed; intervene to maintain patient flow and operational efficiency.
Other Information

Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school.

Licensure/Certification: RN license in North Carolina; BLS certification.

Professional Experience: At least 2 years of nursing experience in a tertiary care setting, including 1 year in the assigned area.
