Job summary

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) House Supervisor for PRN 12-hour shifts with one weekend shift per month and one major holiday per year. The role provides after-hours leadership, oversees patient care quality, and acts as a resource for staff.

You will supervise nursing and support staff, determine staffing, participate in admissions/discharges, and engage in performance improvement.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Current RN license in state of practice; active Kentucky license required.
• BCLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred.
• Experience in hospital setting and shift supervision is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provides after hours leadership, functions as a resource person for staff, assists in patient care, and is responsible for overall quality of patient care in the facility.
• Supervises and mentors nursing and support staff during assigned shifts.
• Determines staffing levels and assignments based on availability, census, acuity, and workflow.
• Provides direct patient care as needed and may take patient assignments to meet staffing needs.
• Responds to patient care complaints and manages them through established channels.
• Performs role-specific duties including entering orders, admissions/discharges, and coordinating transfers.
• Initiates weekend case management, utilization review screening, discharge planning, and swing intake.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
