Job summary

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as House Supervisor on a PRN basis, with 12-hour shifts, one weekend shift per month and one major holiday per year.

In this role you will provide after-hours leadership, supervise and mentor nursing staff, determine staffing needs, and ensure safe, high‑quality patient care while supporting patient flow and discharge planning. Active KY RN license and BCLS are required; ACLS/PALS preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in nursing required; Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
• Current RN license in state of practice; Active Kentucky license required.
• BCLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred.
• PRN, 12-hour shifts, one weekend shift per month and one major holiday per year.
• Leadership and mentorship responsibilities for nursing staff.
• Experience with patient care and discharge planning.

Responsibilities

• Provides after hours leadership and acts as a resource for staff.
• Supervises and mentors nursing and support staff during assigned shifts.
• Determines staffing levels and assignments based on census, acuity, and workflow.
• Provides direct patient care as needed and may take patient assignments.
• Floats between staff to assist with problem-solving and issues.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Coordinates admissions, discharges, and transfers and ensures equipment availability.
