Job summary

Avita Ontario Hospital in Ontario, OH is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department. The RN will provide professional nursing care, coordinate care planning, and support timely diagnostics and documentation in a high-acuity setting.

Applicants should hold an Ohio RN license with BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC within specified timeframes; 1–2 years of ED experience is preferred. Avita offers competitive wages, benefits, PTO, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• OHIO RN license required for state practice.
• BLS Certification required for basic life support.
• ACLS certification due within 3 months of hire.
• PALS certification due within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care in the Emergency Department and coordinate care planning.
• Prioritize care based on physical and psychosocial needs and patient flow.
• Communicate changes in patient status with ED physicians promptly.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or treatment response.

Position Overview

Provides professional nursing care within the Emergency Department; coordinates care planning with other disciplines. Provides care that meets the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care. Determines priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs of patients, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system. Communicates with ED physicians regarding changes in patient’s status, symptomatology and results of diagnostic studies. Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.

Qualifications

Required

• Current State of Ohio Registered Nurse license.
• Current BLS Certification.
• ACLS certified within 3 months of hire.
• PALS within 6 months of hire.
• TNCC within one year of hire.

Preferred

• 1 – 2 years Registered Nurse experience within the last 24 months.
