Job summary

Oregon Health & Science University is seeking a capable registered nurse for its Oncology/Stem Cell Transplant unit in Portland. The role involves caring for adult patients undergoing stem cell transplantation, high‑dose chemotherapy, and biotherapy within a multidisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate has 1 year of oncology or transplant experience, a current Oregon RN license, and BLS certification. Orientation will be provided, with opportunities across a large academic health system in Oregon

Qualifications

1 year RN experience in Oncology, Bone Marrow Transplant, or Adult inpatient Med/Surg.
BSN Graduates: Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program 30 days before start date.
ADN Graduates: Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program 30 days before the start date.
Associate degree Nurses required to enroll in BSN program within 3 years of hire and complete within 5 years of hire.
Current, unencumbered Oregon State Registered Nurse License
BLS from AHA required. New hires will be enrolled and required to complete during orientation.
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation

Responsibilities

Care for adult stem cell transplant patients as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Provide nursing care for patients undergoing high-dose chemotherapy and biotherapy.
Monitor for infections, GVHD, and other chemotherapy-related complications.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, social workers and case managers to coordinate care.
Maintain appropriate nurse-to-patient ratio and ensure patient safety and comfort.
