Job summary

Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment seeks a Health Professional III to join the Health Facilities and Emergency Medical Services Division. The role involves independent assessment of care, treatment, and quality of life in health care facilities, conducting nursing observations, and writing defensible deficiency statements based on CMS and state regulations.

The position requires RN licensure and a minimum 6 years in related health care, with opportunities to advise providers

Qualifications

  • Six (6) years of relevant experience in applicable health care in a facility or program regulated by HFEMSD or similar.
  • Current, valid licensure as a Registered Nurse from Colorado Board of Nursing or eNLC.
  • Combining education with work experience may meet minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Assess care, treatment and quality of life provided by health care facilities.
  • Write statements of deficiencies based on CMS/state regulations and survey results.
  • Advise facility administrators on regulation and compliance.
  • Conduct nursing observations and medication pass tasks as part of survey teams.
