Job summary

Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment seeks a Registered Nurse to join the Health Facilities and Emergency Medical Services Division. The role involves assessing facilities for compliance, conducting nursing observations, and supporting quality of care through regulatory perspectives.

You will operate as part of an interdisciplinary team, review evidence, and communicate deficiencies clearly to providers in a timely manner. Travel across Colorado is expected as part of surveys.

Qualifications

• RN licensure is required and current.
• Minimum 6 years of health care experience in a regulated setting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficiency in documenting findings and communicating regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assess health care facilities for compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Serve as RN on survey team, perform nursing observations and medication pass tasks as applicable.
• Write clear statements of deficiencies and support regulatory citations.
• Provide guidance to facility staff on standards and best practices.
• Travel statewide to conduct facility surveys as needed.
