RNs participate in a Nurse Residency program for new graduates, enjoy tuition reimbursement up to $5,250 after six months, loan forgiveness options, and a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance and wellness programs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Associate degree required; BSN preferred.
• Current Connecticut RN license.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association.
• Excellent assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Committed to nursing excellence and Magnet designation at St. Vincent’s Medical Center.

Responsibilities

• Implements and monitors patient care plans and communicates patient condition.
• Acts as primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated care.
• Follows physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
• Provides individualized care addressing physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual and age-related needs.
• Delegates tasks to nursing staff within scope of education and expertise.
• Participates in daily interdisciplinary patient rounds.
• Adheres to ANA standards and ethics.
• Develops, implements and revises care plans.
• Participates in professional growth activities.
• Other duties as assigned.
