Job summary

St. Vincent’s Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care and coordinate multidisciplinary services in a Magnet-designated hospital. The role emphasizes evidence-based practice and compassionate, individualized patient care.

You’ll work across shifts with day and evening 8-hour blocks, benefiting from tuition reimbursement, residency programs and loan forgiveness programs, along with strong wellness and parking benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Current Connecticut RN license.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association.
• Excellent assessment and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols.
• Implements and monitors patient care plans; communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Serves as primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
• Identifies patient needs across physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual and age-related domains.
• Delegates care to nursing staff to maximize performance.
• Participates in daily interdisciplinary patient rounds and provides input for outcomes.
• Follows ANA guidance and professional standards.
• Develops, implements and revises individualized care plans.
• Participates in professional growth activities and other duties as assigned.
