Job summary

Mercy Hospital South is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Surgical Stepdown unit in St. Louis, MO. The role is a day shift, full-time position totaling 36 hours per week, with a $20,000 sign-on bonus for experienced RNs.

The RN ensures patient care with the nursing process, upholding patient rights and Mercy standards. Education includes ADN, nursing diploma, or BSN; Missouri RN license or compact license is required. BLS is mandatory, with possible state-licensure expansion.

Schedule: Day Shift | Full-Time | 36 hours/week

Qualifications:

Education:

• Associate Degree in Nursing
• Nursing Diploma
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure: Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.

Experience: Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.

Certifications:

• Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: BSN preferred
• Licensure: Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred
• Experience: Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
