Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Behavioral Health RN to provide compassionate, evidence-based care at Mercy Hospital Jefferson (Festus, MO). This PRN role focuses on patient assessment, treatment planning, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to support individuals with psychiatric illness and substance use disorders.

The nurse will ensure patient safety, rights, and privacy while delivering high-quality care in a therapeutic environment, aligned with Mercy's mission and values.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Licensure: Maintain current RN license in the hiring state and meet state board requirements.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) or complete within 30 days of hire.

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of information.

Mercy Behavioral Health Services provides a structured and therapeutic environment to individuals suffering from psychiatric illness, behavioral disorders and substance use disorder. Here at Mercy our dedicated multi-disciplinary team promotes a structured therapeutic program to help those in crisis through evaluation, education, medication therapy, individual and group therapy and relapse prevention.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.

Physical Requirements

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
