Job summary

Liberty Healthcare and Rehabilitation Services seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide quality nursing care in a geriatrics-focused setting. The RN will follow physician orders and facility policies while coordinating with physicians and nursing staff.

Responsibilities include medication administration, supervising nursing assistants, assisting with rounds, documenting care, and upholding infection control standards to ensure timely admissions and annual physicals.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse, graduated from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current, valid license from North Carolina Board of Nursing and proof of renewal every other year.
• Provide quality nursing care to patients, follow doctor orders, geriatric focus.
• CPR certified yearly.
• Attend in-service training and staff meetings as required.
• Able to supervise nursing assistants ensuring timely completion of assignments.
• Dependable, flexible, and able to cooperate with all nursing staff and other departments.
• Ability to make decisions regarding nursing problems and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Assure quality nursing care for patients by following physician’s orders, regulations and facility policies.
• Administers all medications (oral, sq., IM, IV) as ordered by MD and facility policies.
• Leads, guides and supervises nursing assistants and orderlies.
• Assists physicians with rounds as needed.
• Cares for patients during rounds, exams, and treatments as necessary.
• Performs shift treatments and maintains infection control measures.
• Adheres to cleanliness, infection control and universal precautions.
• Assists with research related to quality of nursing care.
• Assists with records, orders and assessments of new admissions and scheduling annual physicals.
