Job summary

Bronson Healthcare is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the General Medical Unit (GMU) at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Michigan. The GMU is a 29-bed stepdown unit providing care to oncology, pulmonary and renal patients, with opportunities to develop specialized skills and competencies.

You will participate in high-quality patient care, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to care planning and discharge processes.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred and must be obtained within 8 years of hire.
• Licensed RN in good standing in Michigan is required.
• BSN must be obtained within 8 years if hired without one.
• BLS certification is required by completion of core orientation.
• Critical care or ALS certifications may be required for some RNs.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, diagnosis, implementation and evaluation.
• Coordinate care with other professionals and delegate tasks appropriately.
• Document patient responses, resource use and outcomes.
• Deliver age-appropriate care with attention to safety, comfort and autonomy.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and maintain professional standards.
• Support discharge planning and patient/family education.
