Job summary

Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo is seeking a Registered Nurse for the General Surgery Unit (GSU). The RN will deliver high-quality care across general, vascular, thoracic, urology, and gynecology patients in a fast-paced environment.

The unit emphasizes teamwork, flexible scheduling, and a supportive culture with day/night rotations and self-scheduling to support work-life balance. Sign-on bonuses are available for eligible applicants.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing is required.
• Bachelor's in Nursing preferred; must obtain within 8 years of hire.
• Licensed RN in good standing in Michigan.
• BLS certification required by core orientation.
• Critical care or ALS may be required for some RNs.

Responsibilities

• Manage care delivery to achieve quality outcomes and timely discharge.
• Use nursing process: assessment, planning, diagnosing, implementation, evaluation.
• Coordinate care with other professionals and delegate tasks as needed.
• Document and communicate patient response and resource needs each shift.
• Demonstrate unit competencies and adapt to patient acuity and complexity.
