Job summary

Medical City Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Room to provide high-quality, patient-centered care. The RN will be responsible for assessing patient needs, performing medical procedures, and educating patients and their families about treatment plans.

Job Summary

The registered nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient‑centered care in the emergency department, using the nursing model "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." The RN collaborates with medical providers and care team members, provides individualized, compassionate care, and advocates for patients, families and caregivers.

Key Responsibilities

• Assesses patient pain and provides effective pain management.
• Performs procedures, monitors, and other functions as ordered by medical providers; documents care in the patient medical record promptly.
• Responds promptly to patient requests, anticipates needs and resolves them proactively.
• Teaches patients, families and caregivers about medical condition, treatment plan, medications and follow‑up measures, translating complex terminology for understanding.
• Teaches about non‑medical follow‑up measures such as diet, exercise, disease prevention and other lifestyle changes, preparing patients for self‑management.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required; BSN preferred and must be achieved within 3 years of employment.
• Registered Nurse license in Texas.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification at hire (AHA or ARC).
• ENPC, TNCC certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Minimum two years of nursing experience (emergency room clinical experience preferred).
