Job summary

Spencer Hospital is seeking an RN to join the Float Pool, providing versatile care across ED, ICU, Med/Surg, Birth Center and other departments. You’ll use the nursing process to deliver individualized care and ensure high-quality outcomes during your shift.

You will collaborate with the nursing team, adapt to various units, and support multiple specialties. A valid IA RN license is required, with in-house education to obtain additional certifications as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of Med/Surg experience or equivalent hospital experience.
• Critical care experience preferred.
• Must be willing to fill Resource Nurse role.
• Must have or willing to obtain BLS, ACLS, TNCC, PALS, Hazmat, Mandatory Reporter, AMLS, and NRP (in-house education available).
• Must be a caring communicator, flexible, able to multitask and be comfortable with technological systems.
• Active IA RN license is required.

Responsibilities

• Varying shifts in the ED, ICU, Resource, Med/Surg, Birth Center (post-partum), Behavioral Health Services, and Same Day Service Pre-Op and PACU.
• Utilize the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care in the various departments.
• Assume responsibility for nursing care outcomes during a specified work period.
• Collaborate with nursing personnel to provide total patient care and follow patient protocols.
