Job summary

LewisGale Hospital Pulaski is seeking an RN for a Float Pool PRN role in Pulaski, Virginia. You will deliver patient-centered care across units under the supervision of a Nursing Clinical Coordinator or Department Director.

The role requires active RN licensure, AC LS/BCLS within specified timeframes, and completion of the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention course. You will contribute to safety, documentation, and effective teamwork while supporting hospital policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse
• ACLS within 60 months of employment start date
• BCLS within 90 days of employment start date
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention within 60 days of employment start date
• RN licensure in good standing

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care within the scope of nursing practice and coordinated with the Nursing Clinical Coordinator or Department Director
• Demonstrate clinical judgment and maintain confidentiality
• Document accurately and timely per organizational policy
• Manage time effectively for efficiency and productivity
• Dispense medications and manage narcotics with clinical judgment
• Delegate tasks appropriately based on scope and policy
• Resolve clinical issues and seek assistance when needed
• Complete annual education and safety initiatives
• Promote patient safety and infection prevention
• Educate patients and families from admission to discharge
• Advance professional nursing practice through learning and systems thinking
• Adhere to hospital and unit policies
• Perform other duties as assigned
