Job summary

LewisGale Medical Center in Salem, VA is seeking a Registered Nurse for our PRN Float Pool. You will provide skilled nursing care across units, using evidence-based practice to support patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include assessing, planning, intervening and evaluating care, documenting accurately, and collaborating with patients, families and the healthcare team while upholding confidentiality and patient comfort. This PRN role offers flexible hours and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Associate degree from a professional nursing program (required)
• BSN or current enrollment in a BSN program (preferred)
• Current RN licensure in Virginia or multi-state compact RN license with eligibility to practice in VA
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider (required)

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care within the scope of practice and follow confidentiality policies
• Report critical information or changes in condition to the healthcare team
• Provide comfort and reassess patient pain as needed
• Document effectively, succinctly, and timely according to policy
• Collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team to coordinate care
