Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas is seeking a Registered Nurse on our Inpatient Med/Surg Float Pool to support cross-unit staffing across Clements University Hospital and Zale Lipshy Pavilion. Float Pool RNs are cross-trained for 30+ inpatient units, including med/surg, oncology, telemetry, and progressive care, adapting to census, acuity, and staffing needs.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of accredited nursing program.
• Experience: 1 year of acute med/surg nursing experience.
• Licenses/ Certifications: BLS, ACLS, Texas RN license, NLC or equivalent; NIHSS, CPI within 180 days.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document physical, psychosocial, and emotional assessments.
• Develop and adjust care plans based on assessments.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary plan of care with health care team.
• Prioritize interventions according to patient needs and changes in condition.
• Ensure adherence to policies and clinical pathways.
